What we'll work on
Every lesson is built around where you're going. Spanish in Oaxaca is not Spanish in Medellín, and nobody warns you about that.
Transportation
Buses, colectivos, taxis, asking for directions and understanding the answer.
Ordering food
So you stop pointing at the menu and hoping.
Hostales
Checking in, asking questions, not getting the top bunk by the bathroom.
Making friends with locals
The small talk that turns into actual friendships.
Your accent
So people stop switching to English on you.
Slang
The real stuff, by country.
The courage to talk
Honestly the biggest one. You'll mess up. That's the whole point.
Grammar?
We can do some grammar if you really want to. I wouldn't recommend it. You don't need the subjunctive to buy a bus ticket.
Real talk
I'm not a certified teacher and I don't want to be. I'm just a guy who's been to a lot of places, talked with a lot of Latinos, and learned this language the hard way, one embarrassing mistake at a time. I know what it's like to freeze up mid sentence at a taco stand. I'll get you past that.
