🌴 Backpacker Spanish

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Backpacker Spanish is run by one guy, not a legal team. This page covers what I collect on this site, why, and what you can do about it.

What I collect

Through the Meta Pixel, running on every page: cookies, your IP address, your browser and device info, and which pages you visit.

If you use the contact form at the bottom of the homepage: your name, email, your Instagram or TikTok handle if you give it, and whatever you write in the message.

Why I collect it

To understand how people find and use the site, and to run ads on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook more effectively, including showing them to people who look like past visitors (this is usually called a lookalike audience).

If you fill out the contact form, I use your info to follow up with you about a trip. Nothing else.

Who it's shared with

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) gets pixel data through the Meta Pixel. That's it. I don't sell your information to anyone.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for the Meta Pixel to work. If you're visiting from the EU or UK, you'll see a banner asking for your permission before those cookies load. Everyone else, the pixel loads automatically.

Your rights

If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR: you can ask what I have on you, ask me to delete it, or object to how it's used.

If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA: you can ask what's collected, ask for deletion, and opt out of any sale or sharing of your data. I don't sell data, so that last one is already covered.

For any of this, email ayuda@backpackerspanish.com and I'll handle it myself.
